Nutrition Coach Course
Who is the Nutrition Coach training suitable for?
For personal trainers, fitness coaches, lifestyle coaches, entrepreneurs in the fitness or health industry, people who want to add nutrition to their coaching, and people considering a career switch towards health. Also for those interested in psychology, behavior, and lifestyle.
What can I do after the course?
You can add nutritional guidance to your personal training or fitness coaching, start online coaching programs, guide clients through lifestyle and behavioral change, and give workshops or lectures on nutrition and lifestyle. The focus is on sustainable behavioral change.
What will I learn during the course?
You build a foundation in nutrition, energy balance and macronutrients, lifestyle (sleep, stress), the psychology behind eating behavior, and coaching and communication techniques. You learn not only what someone should do, but above all how to guide people through behavioral change.
Do you follow a specific diet or dietary movement?
No. We do not work from one specific diet. Instead, you learn the fundamental scientific principles of nutrition, allowing you to always tailor your advice to your client's person, situation, and goals.
Why is there an emphasis on psychology and behavioral change?
In practice, many people know what they should do but struggle to put it into practice. With the rise of AI, anyone can have a nutrition plan created, but guiding behavioral change requires real coaching skills: recognizing patterns, asking the right questions, and understanding motivation.
Do I need prior knowledge for the Nutrition Coach training?
No. The program starts with the basics and builds a strong foundation step by step. An interest in health, nutrition, and psychology is a plus, however.
Can I take the Nutrition Coach training alongside my job?
Yes. Many students take the course alongside their job as a personal trainer, coach, or entrepreneur. On average, you spend 8 to 12 hours per week on self-study, plus a 3.5-hour practical lesson once every four weeks.
How is the Nutrition Coach training structured?
There are 6 modules spread over 24 weeks. Each module lasts 4 weeks. You study the theory via the online learning environment and work with case studies and coaching exercises during the practical lessons, in small groups of a maximum of 12-14 students.
Is an internship mandatory?
No. However, during the program you will start building a portfolio, in which you apply the knowledge you have learned to a practical case, for example a client from your work, a test client, or someone from your immediate circle.
What does the exam look like?
The exam (module 6) consists of two parts: a theoretical test that you complete at home, and a practical exam in which your portfolio is discussed and assessed.
Will I receive a diploma?
Yes. Upon successful completion, you will receive the Milo Nutrition Coach diploma.
What if I miss a lesson in the Nutrition Coach training?
We will check if you can make up the lesson with another group. If that is not possible, you can schedule a 1-on-1 make-up session with a mentor (€85/hour excl. VAT, usually 1.5 to 2 hours). Lessons 5 and 6 are compulsory (part of the exam).
Is this the same as a dietitian training program?
No. Dietitian is a protected medical profession with a higher professional education (HBO) track. A nutrition coach guides healthy people in making better choices. We teach you to recognize your limits and how to refer your clients in time.
Skin In The Game
Is Skin In The Game also suitable for beginners?
Yes. The program is actually very suitable for beginners. You are guided through all the basic principles of strength training right from the start. We believe it is important to teach you why we have you do certain exercises and programs.
Is the program also suitable for advanced users?
Yes. Even as an advanced athlete, there is still plenty to learn. We often see people who have been training for years but still do not understand the basic principles. If you want to take the next steps in your progress, SITG is a good choice.
What materials do I need?
Dumbbells, barbells, and a cable station – the standard equipment of a gym.
What's the duration of Skin In The Game?
The program lasts 30 weeks (~7 months). We chose this duration because you can potentially take it parallel to the Milo Personal Training course. You can start whenever you want.
How much does Skin In The Game cost?
€109 incl. VAT. Unfortunately, payment in installments is not possible with this program.
Is this a personal trainer course?
No. Skin in the Game is not a coaching or PT training program. It's a training program for yourself. However, for many people, it serves as a taster: if you survive SITG, you will know whether the full PT training is right for you.
